Weekend Project!

S0ccer Tots in the morning...

This weekend we did a little yard work. (Okay, who am I kidding, we do yard work every weekend.) We have a half-acre yard but we have only six measly trees, and one of the things we wanted to do almost as soon as we moved in was to plant more trees... then we realized that deer eat everything. Especially baby tree seedlings. We added two oaks in the front yard and planted the free red bud we got a couple of years ago as a seedling, and placed heavy-duty deer fencing around everything to protect them. It was probably over 100 degrees outside, but Ryan pressed on and insisted on getting it done. The man is dedicated, but probably a little crazy! Beth and Luke played in the hose, of course!

It looks like Ryan is training to compete on fence jumping! I think he's going to win!

If you guys are still having problems with the deer eating your plants and trees, try this! Pull the hair out of your hairbrush and put it on and around your plants. The deer will smell you and won't go near your plants. When I was younger, my parents had the same problem with some trees they planted and it works!
