Our Valentine's Day

gluten-free cupcakes, my first attempt at fondant!
We celebrated with our home school group by attending the annual Valentine's Day party.  It was held at a local park on a beautiful day!  We made Valentines to share, brought some homemade gluten-free cupcakes to share, and spent most of the time playing at the park!

After the park we went home to rest for about an hour before we got ready to go out to eat for our annual family date at PF Changs.  Since we were going to pick Ryan up from work, I got the kids ready and tried to take some pictures of the three of them all purtied up!

yup, that's what luke wore last year!  it was a little big on jack, but it was close enough!

I hate to admit that we were "that family" at the restaurant this year.  It was warm enough to sit outside so in my defense, we tried to get away from the fine diners!  We kept getting looks from the table next to us, two adults and two teenaged boys.  Funny, because Ryan and I thought the kids did pretty well!

After dinner we took them for a very special  ride at the carousel.  You don't know how long Beth has been begging me to go on this thing, my excuse is that I never carry cash.  On her birthday, she opened a card from her great grandmother to find $10 of cash, and the first thing she said was, "Mommy!  We have cash!  Now you can take me for a ride on the carousel!"  Talk about feeling like a bad mom!  (For the record, we didn't use her cash, we sprung for the few bucks and let her keep her birthday money!)

Jack stayed with me. :-)  A great Valentine's day... Lots of friends and candy, baking gifts from Grandma and Grandpa, cards from Daddy (and an orchid plant for me!), a yummy dinner, valet parking, and leftover cupcakes for dessert!

It looks like you guys had such a fun day! I love that you guys still do your PF Changs valentine's dinner and even include the kids - how fun to all get dressed up as a family!
